Although it has been more than a year since the self-effacing Twitter superhero, James Blunt posted the following Tweet, we again have cause and opportunity to consider that the cockney rhyming euphemism be handed from James Blunt to Jeremy Hunt.

Since his recent reappointment as health Secretary, Mr Hunt is back in the public eye and we do like to keep our cockney rhyming slang topical and as accurate as possible.

If we were to have a parliamentary debate about it, I would expect the majority would vote for the crown be passed immediately from James to Jeremy, however we need to look at the bigger picture.

Mr Blunt himself suggests on his Twitter profile, that ‘James Blunt’ is cockney rhyming slang for ‘the good stuff’.

Perhaps we should follow his lead and stop using the name of this lady-part as an offensive slur.

Or perhaps we could split the meaning; use a ‘c’ to indicate a person with a great sense of humour and polarising effect on music lovers and a hard ‘k’ to indicate someone like Jeremy Hunt. What do you think?
